HCi planned and created online help, directed at users of various levels of responsibility within the company, to assist the to understand the concepts involved in using the new system to manage both internal and external activities and to provide them with reference material and procedural guidance to allow them to learn about the system and use it efficiently. Job 14248: Our client, a major educational institution, had developed a student information database and supporting application system and were in the process of rolling out major upgrades. The client was aware of their lack of the resources needed to develop suitable documentation. HCi were engaged to conduct a comprehensive analysis of documentation needs and produce a detailed project plan for the production of the documentation. The analysis and plan covered online user help; dual purpose self-paced and face-to-face training matetials; and extensive technical documentation, including data dictionary, and documentation covering systems maintenance, production process, error messages, and business rules. Job 14064: A large tertiary education institution found that as a result of structural and management changes, its internet and intranet sites had become disorganised, inconsistent, and poorly presented and managed. HCi was asked to review the structure of the sites, their navigation conventions, and its operation and management processes, and recommend a detailed strategy to bring them up to the desired standard. We worked with key stakeholders and the institution's graphic designers to devise a detailed practical program to quickly bring about the desired objective.
