How much will it cost?

Wage and hourly rates for instructional designers vary according to experience and capability.  Specialists (eg instructional designers with wide ranging industry experience) are often more expensive per hour than non-specialists.

Typical rates for our instructional designers are between $65 and $95 per hour.  Generally, instructional designers at lower rates are less experienced, and often less productive, so that the cost for your project may not be reduced by looking for a low rate - it might actually cost you more in total!

Our clients normally need one or more instructional designers for periods between one and three months.  A longer contract period usually means a lower hourly rate.  The rate that we give you for an instructional designer will be inclusive of all taxes, superannuation, insurance, except GST.

Salaries for instructional designers range between $60K and $80K, plus super.  Experienced instructional designers who can control and mentor a team of other designers will range between $80K and $100K.  To find a permanent instructional designer that matches a client's requirements, we charge the client a percentage of the designer's  first year's salary.
