A trainer is a professional who:

• undertakes training delivery to a classroom or e-Learning audience
•  has undertaken a formal training delivery qualification such as Certificate IV or has the appropriate years of training experience
• trainers can also sometimes develop documentation and training materials 
• has a well structured and formalised approach to training delivery, based on learning outcomes

How much will it cost?

Wage and hourly rates for trainers vary according to experience and capability.  Specialists (eg trainers who are certified in specialised fields such as ITIL, OH&S, ISO etc) are often more expensive per hour than non-specialists.

Typical rates for our trainers are between $65 and $95 per hour.  Generally, trainers at lower rates are less experienced, and often less productive, so that the cost for your project may not be reduced by looking for a low rate - it might actually cost you more in total!

Our clients normally need a trainer for periods from one to three months.  A longer contract period usually means a lower hourly rate.  The rate that we give you for a particular trainer will be inclusive of all taxes, superannuation, insurance, except GST.

Salaries for trainers range between $60K and $80K, plus super.  Experienced trainers who can control and mentor a team of other trainers will range between $80K and $120K.  To find a permanent trainer that matches a client's requirements, we charge the client a percentage of the trainer's first year's salary.
